What day(s) and hour(s) will Lubbock Mini Maker Faire be open to the public?
The Lubbock Mini Maker Faire 2012 will be held on Saturday April 28, at the United Spirit Arena and run from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Which entrance at the United Spirit Arena do we use?
Check-in will be at ground level on the west side of the building (box office area).
Where can I park?
Texas Tech University Commuter West parking spots are available to attendees for event day parking. There is often more than one type of parking space in a lot. So watch for the signs!
Where is the handicap parking located?
Handicap parking is available and clearly marked.
Is public transportation available?
Citibus will get you close. Check out their website to plan your trip.
Will you have bike parking?
Yes. According to the TTU bicycle information page: "Park only in designated racks. Do not block entrances, wheelchair-accessible ramps, or chain bikes to handrails or trees. Bikes in violation will be removed, with owners held responsible for removal costs and fines." Be sure to observe all other applicable bike riding and parking regulations while on campus (i.e. bring a lock).
Can I volunteer at the Mini Maker Faire?

What if it rains?
Everyone will be ecstatic and the show will go on! Most of our exhibits will be indoors. You may want to bring rain gear to keep you dry when walking outdoors.
What can I expect?
To have a fantastic time! You'll be surprised and intrigued with every corner that you turn.

About Lubbock Mini Maker Faire:
Brought to Lubbock by the Texas Tech University Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch, the Lubbock Mini Maker Faire is a smaller version of a Maker Faire. Our event will take place on April 28, 2012 at the United Spirit Arena and be a one-day, family-friendly event that celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. Our goal is to bring 50+ makers and 2500+ attendees together to help encourage the Maker Spirit and awareness of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) among Young Makers on the South Plains. Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
